Stephanie Ruest, MD, MPH, FAAP

Dr. Ruest is an assistant professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine. She is currently the pediatric emergency medicine trauma liaison and a Lifespan Injury Prevention Center faculty member. Her research interests include child abuse and neglect and injury prevention as well as social determinants of health, including food insecurity. She is a member of the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) Child Abuse and Neglect Research Interest Group as well as the Injury Prevention Research Interest Group, and a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Foster Care Committee.

Mary Kathryn Cancilliere, PhD, is a pediatric psychologist and research scientist in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Rhode Island Hospital and assistant professor (research) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Overall, Dr. Cancilliere’s program of research aims to develop interventions and prevention protocols while leveraging digital health technology for youth injury prevention and control during acute psychiatric risk (i.e., suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors) and their families in the Pediatric Emergency Department, Psychiatric Emergency Services.

Jillian E. Beveridge, PhD

Dr. Jillian E. Beveridge, PhD, is a researcher at the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in Skeletal Health and Repair at Rhode Island Hospital. She’s also a faculty member at Brown University’s Bioengineering Laboratory and an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at The Warren Alpert Medical School. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) following intra-articular joint injuries. Dr. Beveridge specializes in orthopedic biomechanics and PTOA using various imaging techniques in translational animal models and clinical studies.

She holds a doctorate in biomedical engineering from the University of Calgary and completed fellowships in mechanical engineering and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Beveridge founded the Movement and Biomechanics Laboratory at the Cleveland Clinic before joining Rhode Island Hospital. She has contributed as a senior author to numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, presented many abstracts, and secured grant funding, including the prestigious National Institutes of Health K99/R00 Pathway to Independence award. Dr. Beveridge has received recognition for her scientific contributions, including the Early-Career Award from the Journal of Orthopaedic Research for her work on estimating ACL properties and PTOA risk after surgery.

Robyn Wing, MD, MPH, FAAP

Robyn Wing, MD, MPH, FAAP, is an attending physician in the pediatric emergency department at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the director of pediatric simulation at the Lifespan Medical Simulation Center. She is an associate professor of emergency medicine and pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Wing’s work focuses on pediatric emergency medicine, quality improvement, and medical education, including simulation-based graduate medical education and interprofessional education. Her current research interests include simulation-based airway skills training and competency assessment, teamwork training, and the use of simulation in medical education in the community setting.

In 2022, she was awarded the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Junior Faculty Teaching Award. Dr. Wing is co-founder and co-chair of the National Emergency Airway Registry for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (NEAR4PEM), leading efforts to improve and study pediatric airway management in emergency departments across the world.
